Birth Doula:
My role as a Doula
To provide you with physical, emotional and informational support to ensure a positive, safe and satisfying birth experience to you and your partner. I provide my services specifically to you, and I am not employed by your health care providers.
The On-Call period
I am officially “on call” two weeks before and after your said due date. I am available via text, email and also by cell phone. I need to be notified at the first signs of labor, to make the adequate arrangements to be with you for your labor and birth. If at any time you call and I do not answer please leave a voice-mail (and/or text/email) with contact information so I can reach you as soon as I possibly can.
Prenatal visit
At this visit, we will go over in detail, your birth plan, you and also your partner’s goals, fears and preferences. I will want to know how you prefer to handle pain, fatigue and difficult situations so I can apply my skills where needed.
I have a series of videos, that if you choose we can watch to prepare and maybe empower you to have a satisfying birth. We will also talk about pain medications at this visit, or if natural birth is your ultimate goal, we can discuss and go over coping strategies and methods to help with the process as well.
By phone email or text
I am openly available for contact between the hours of 8am and 9pm MST for any questions or concerns you have. Emails and Texts often get answered quickest, but if you prefer to talk over the phone, please allow at least 2 hours for me to contact you.
When you are in labor
Please contact me when you are in labor. I will arrive within adequate time or meet you at the hospital which ever is most applicable. From this time, I will offer my continuous support and assistance where ever possible. I can also advocate for you with the medical staff, and assist in making informed decisions with you and your partner about procedures and policy.
After birth
I prefer to stay with you for 1-2 hours after birth. I will offer assistance in breastfeeding if needed. I will also help with transition to a postpartum suite if applicable. I am available for questions about baby care, and breastfeeding help up to two weeks following the delivery.
Postpartum visit
My services include a post partum visit, in your home to reflect, and discuss your birth. At this visit we will also finalize any payments, and follow up on your experience.
Other Services
Educational Support
With this option, I offer a Prenatal Visit, unlimited Email and phone Support and a Postnatal visit (see above for the description of services). I wil not plan to attend your birth, but give you the lines of communication and support to make the informed decisions you need to achieve your goal for birth.
This option is good if you have a great support team, but need someone educated to point you in the right direction. It's also invaluable when you are unsure of procedures or services you may be offered by a health care provider, and you need an informed opinion and information.
Private Childbirth Education
This option childbirth education in the privacy of your home with materials from Injoyvideos.com and more.
This a condensed more relaxed environment than traditional classes.
Classes can be done over the course of 1 or 2 days in one 8hour session or two 4 hour sessions.
Great for moms who have had children but need a refresher, or for parents with non traditional schedules (My services are very flexible)
Birth phography
Tastful photos taken during birth, and right after to capture that family meet baby moment. edited and put on a disk for your personal enjoyment

Fees:
Birth Doula : $650.00 I do offer payment plans, a sliding scale and also open to bartering services. (A non refundable deposit of $250.00 is due at the prenatal visit.)
Educational support: $250.00 (full payment due at prenatal visit)
Private Childbirth Education : $125 (full payment due before scheduled class)
Birth Photography: $75 (full payment due at prenatal visit)
**If I am unable to serve you at your birth, I will only request the Educational Support payment. If you have made any payments above our agreed amount, and I am unable to attend your birth as a fault of my own, I will revise my fees and refund any amounts that are above and beyond the Educational Support package(prenatal visits, and contact through the on call period)
**I am a childbirth advocate, and I value the care a doula provides, so I do not wish to deny services to women who are truly seeking my care.
We can discuss further payment options, and barter services at your prenatal visit.
